Research Plan:
The on going research activities in microbiology department are “Incidence and Drug resistance pattern of uropathogens in Pregnant women” and “Isolation and identification of bacteria causing nosocomial infection in different government and private hospitals”
I am interested in research activities related to medical microbiology. The plan of research is on “Incidence and Drug resistance pattern of Salmonella typhi and paratyphi”.
Due to increase incidence of typhoid and paratyphoid in slum areas of Akola, (Maharashtra), India, it has become imperative to carry out study on statistical analysis of the patients suffering from the above diseases, isolate the causative agents and study its antibiotic susceptibility / resistance pattern.
It has been seen recently that due to increase and un-judicious use of antibiotics there is increasing trend of Salmonella.typhi and paratyphi becoming resistance to 3rd generation antibiotics, hence our main area of research is to find out newer antibiotics and its MIC effective against the target organism and the reason of it becoming multi-drug resistance.
Aims and Objective :
a. Identification of patients suffering from Typhoid / Paratyphoid.
b. Statistical analysis of patients age, season gender and area wise.
c. Isolation and identification of causative agents.
d. Antibiotic susceptibility / Resistance pattern by Kirby-Bauer technique.
e. MIC test of effective antibiotics.
f. Discovery of newer and or combination of antibiotics for most resistant strain isolated.

Extra curricular activities :-
1. Maintain list of blood donors and help donating blood to poor & needy in Govt. Hospitals.
